This is How You Repair Skin from Sun Damage

As much as we all love days out at the beach and picnics in the sunshine, sun damage is significantly harmful to skin. It is crucial therefore, that you know exactly how to prevent and repair skin after being exposed.

The effects of sun damage

On the high end of the spectrum, sun damage can cause cancerous cells to develop, as well as potential precancerous lesions such as Actinic Keratosis. Other effects include premature ageing and severe sunburn. UV rays from the sun, create free radicals which break down collagen in the skin and as a result, speeds up the ageing process.

Always wear protection

Before you begin to treat, it’s important you prevent further damage. Wearing SPF daily is a mandatory step. This includes wearing an SPF lip balm.

Both our Anytime Moisture Surge SPF 20 and 24-7 Moisturising SPF 50, are currently on sale. Our Anytime Moisture Surge is light-weight and absorbs quickly. It’s fantastic for skin that is slightly oily or doesn’t require a heavy cream. It helps reduce redness and protect skin from UVA, UVB and infrared filter.

Our 24-7 Moisturising SPF 50 meanwhile, is incredibly hydrating and contains both vitamin C for free radical prevention, and Aloe Barbadensis – the finest aloe vera to soothe and heal skin. Again, this moisturiser protects from UVA and UVB.

Exfoliate on a weekly basis

You want to focus on protecting and treating your healthy skin cells, which is why it’s worthwhile to actively remove dead cells on your skin’s surface. Exfoliating will also help all your products absorb better and will make your complexion brighter, smoother and more radiant.

Keep skin hydrated

The sun strips the skin of moisture. If you are at the beach and spend time in the sea, the chlorine and salt water will additionally soak away hydration. Dehydrated skin can cause wrinkles, flakiness, oil and irritable dry patches.

Stem Cellutions Hydro Moisturiser is now on sale and is perfect for repairing sun damage. This cream is full of anti-oxidants and peptides to stimulate the production of elastin and collagen. Using our Stem Cellutions cream, will help you to achieve youthful, healthy and supple skin.

Apply skin repairing vitamins

We all know how beneficial vitamins are to our bodies and wellbeing. As much as we always encourage eating a wide variety of fruit and veg, we equally suggest applying vitamins externally.

We have packed a copious number of vitamins and anti-ageing ingredients into our Vitamin Drip Mask. The Vitamins A, C and E contained in this mask, will neutralise damaging free radicals (caused by the sun), and will allow your skin to repair itself.

But that’s not all. This mask contains glycolic – an Alpha Hydroxyl acid which penetrates pores and remove dead skin cells. This mask is a fantastic solution for sun damage and right now has a must-buy sale offer.

Do not forget your eyes

Because the skin around our eyes is thinner than the rest of our face, it’s more prone to sun damage. Looking after this area is a good investment, and so we recommend our Stem Cellutions Eye Serum.  This will reduce the appearance of fine lines, dark circles and puffiness, whilst stimulating collagen for firmer and brighter skin.
