Skincare Resolutions to make in 2018

It’s easy to get carried away buying the latest eyeshadow shades and lipstick tones of the season. But good makeup starts with great skin.

Now is the perfect opportunity to ensure that you are maximising its potential, taking care of it properly – prevention is better than cure, and achieving that coveted radiant glow without any purchase of highlighter.

These are the skincare resolutions to make in 2018:

Remove all makeup

Avoid sleeping in last night’s beauty look by cleaning your face the moment that you arrive home.

Sleep is our body’s rest – what little we have in our hectic schedules, so it’s vital that you allow your skin to repair properly without depriving it of nutrients that your makeup can block.

Want to know what cleanser will work for you? Discover all the reasons why cleansing is important and what is recommended for your skin type.

Be gentle on exfoliation

Skin is the largest organ in your body, but that doesn’t mean that it can withhold harsh scrubbing.

Exfoliating removes dead skin cells that clog pores. This creates a healthier appearance as well as vanishing signs of tiredness.

We have devised 2 in 1 options. Our exfoliating cleanser contains non-abrasive Silica beads which are gentle for daily use and our Clean Tech Pore Minimising Mask has crushed diamonds and Glycolic acid which clears oil, dead skin cells and debris.

Stay hydrated

A simple and yet clear solution.  Instead of purchasing plastic, we advise using washable bottles which are a step to protecting our environment.

Another tip is to keep water close-by. Research shows that we are more likely increase our intake of food and drink if it is within arm’s reach. And that means hiding all those sweets that we are anxious to avoid.

Book a facial

Facials can be seen as a luxury and not necessity. However, we believe that facials are highly beneficial and if you do have the option to book an appointment, do so next year.

A professional will assess your skin, fix concerns and use the latest equipment and massage techniques to instantly rejuvenate your complexion.

At Harley Street Skin Clinic, you can leave your office at lunch and come back feeling refreshed and pampered all in under an hour.

Protect from pollution

Regardless of whether you live in a city or by the countryside, air pollution is everywhere and can wreck havoc on your skin.

It’s responsible for playing a role in accelerating deep lines. The sooner you begin to protect, the better chances you have for slowing down the ageing process.

Our 24-7 Firming Serum is unisex and an ideal choice. The Vitamin E protects from environmental pollution in addition to UV radiation. This excludes SPF, for which we have 24-7 Anytime Moisture Surge to use after.

Serums are more concentrated than creams and should be put on first as a treatment that penetrates deeper into the skin’s surface layers.

Use eye product

The skin under our eyes is 30% thinner than the rest of our face. This makes it susceptible to dryness and is the first place to display signs of ageing.

A best seller and adored by celebs, our StemCellution Eye Serum stores ingredients which increase collagen production, reduce wrinkle depth, and increase skin thickness.

Most moisturisers will be too greasy and dense to be applied on your eye area. Check the back of the cream you are using to clarify whether you should avoid.

As the area is thinner, be careful not to stretch or pull. Opt for your ring finger and press lightly.

Improve lifestyle choices

Our exterior is a reflection of our insides. Products and tools will only take us so far.

Small changes lead to bigger leaps; therefore start by setting manageable goals. Perhaps you cut back on social-media before bed or you add extra vegetables to your main meals.

Living the healthiest lifestyle possible will grant you improvement on how you look and feel.

I am very interested in rejuvenating and replenishing my skin as I have sun damage over living for many years in a sub tropical climate! Although I have not sunbathed in many years, the effects are still noticeable!
